CSO must give feedback in implementation of schemes

Feedback should be given to civil society organizations in the implementation of the schemes. Government schemes and programmes must be evaluated objectively. These views were given by the speakers in the conference session on “Role of voluntary organizations in study and impact assessment of government programmes/ schemes” for participation in sustainable development and sharing of experiences.

Presiding over the session, Member Secretary, Madhya Pradesh State Policy and Planning Commission, Swatantra Singh said that voluntary organizations should come forward to promote public participation. He said that civil society organizations have played an important role in making developed countries developed.

Yogesh Kumar of Samarthan Bhopal said that there should be continuous dialogue with voluntary organizations at district or block level through Jan Abhiyan Parishad. He said that fair evaluation of schemes would help in policy making. Dr Yogesh Rathore of Shodh Bhopal said that small organizations are doing maximum work with minimum resources.

He said that there is diversity in diversity in the state. These variations must be taken into account when evaluating schemes. Neha Gupta of Transform Rural India Foundation and Shri Purushottam Dhakad of Srijan Bhopal also expressed their views.

The participants also gave important suggestions in the session.
