He has 10 years of experience various aspects of meteorology like Satellite, AI, Climate Science and machine learning to name a few. He is qualified engineer in Comp. Sc. & Engg. From IIT BHU and Ph.D. in Advance Machine Learning from IIT Patna.
His current responsibilities include issuing severe weather warnings/Nowcast, briefing to media. He is also looking after Seismology unit and DRMS (hydrology) unit. He is nodal officer for climate change and human health committee.

Dr. Kamal S Kirad is Ph.D. in horticulture and currently working as Addl. Dir. with Horticulture deptt. since 2021-22. He has unique combination of experience working as professor, researcher, practitioner and administrator. Before joining GoMP, he was head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dhar (MP). Under his able leadership many technology demonstration units were established on farm based high income livelihood models.
He was assistant professor of horticulture in Naini Agricultural Institute. His numerous research articles have been published in journals of international and national repute.
